Got couple rush jobs this weekend so i had to finish the badly drawn boy illustration really quick. They also decided to make it the cover illustration for their December issue. So pretty happy about that. Also they are gonna use the background pattern (without the figure) as the back cover for that issue. (You can see pattern in my previous blog post).
Working on an illustration job for Rolling Stone (Turkey) right now. Due in 13 hours. Inking some layers of the final. The Article is about “10 year anniversary of the Susurluk Scandal in Turkey.” It is kind of a hard one but i know i got great concept for this illustration. Tired but really happy with it.
Susurluk
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Susurluk is a small town in the northwest of Turkey. It is famous for its production of olive oil, soap and dairy produce.
In 1996 this township was home to a fatal car accident, after which it was found that among the slain and injured were one parliamentary deputy, a known right-wing gang leader, a former beauty queen, and a senior police officer.
The resulting political and social turmoil has come to be known as the Susurluk scandal, and the accident was described as definite proof of the link between politics, organized crime and the bureaucracy, referred to in Turkish politics as the derin devlet (”deep state“).
Several people, including three ex-special forces members, were convicted of illegal activities and served prison terms.

So basically working on that right now and listening to Tom Waits’ new album “Orphans: Brawlers and Bastards”. Really really good album and also really good work music. At the studio with Daniel Krall and Brian Mead. Having fun.
Also having some phone problems and it is really annoying when i am trying to be reached by clients. It will be fixed by next week.
